resourced

Resourced is a virtual reality documentary focusing on the work of Toronto street nurses Cathy Crowe and Roxie Danielson. The documentary delivers audio interviews with the subjects while the audience is immersed within digital reconstructions of urban spaces. Looking at the foundational work by Cathy Crowe to establish the discipline of street nursing, the documentary reflects on how people serving those at the margins of society are often marginalized themselves through associated stigma and poverty. The effects of COVID-19 on unhoused populations and the people who serve them are highlighted through an addition of new audio interviews to the original documentary.

Early iterations of the project were exhibited at Trinity Square Video (Toronto) during the 2018 Mayworks Festival for Working People and the Arts, and at Toronto Media Arts Centre for the 2019 Workman Arts Rendezvous with Madness Festival.

We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
